Hour 1:

Prince Mongo joins Kevin Cerrito in studio to guest host a special edition of MSL.  The guys recap the week in the Starting 5. Also, the President of the Mid-South Miami Heat Fan Club Marcus Hunter calls in to talk about the NBA Finals and the upcoming draft. Plus, Mongo gives his thoughts on the guy who thinks demon monkeys and cursed skulls are in The Pyramid.

Hour 2:

Prince Mongo talks about where he parks his spaceship, abducting humans, red light districts, his goggles, Mayor Wharton and more. Also, Mongo takes phone calls and answers Twitter and text messages questions from fellow spirits. Plus, Woohoos and Boos.

Prince Mongo to guest co-host MSL on June 23

For the past two years, MSL (MemphiSport Live) has been the exclusive home of an annual interview with the one and only Prince Mongo. This year the Prince is moving over to the hosting chair and will guest co-host the two hour show with regular MSL host Kevin Cerrito on Saturday, June 23rd.

“This will mark the first time in the show’s history that an extraterrestrial will be a host,” says Cerrito.

As part of his in studio appearance, Mongo will once again take phone calls and answer questions from fellow “spirits.” Listeners will also be able to submit questions via MSL’s twitter (@memphisport) and Facebook (MSL) accounts. Mongo has also promised to take some time to predict the future.

Mongo posted about his MSL guest hosting gig on his Facebook page:

The 2012 M Awards Voting is Now Live

M Stands for Memphis. M Stands for major league. M stands for magnanimous. M stands for marvelous, master, and most of all, MemphiSport.

The M Award stands for all that is great in Memphis area sports. And the best part is that it is up to you. That’s right, you -the readers, listeners and viewers- will be the only judges for this award. No referees, no coaches poll, and no panel of experts. You vote for the best of the past year in Memphis Sports. This year’s nominees are for the period between June 2011 and June 2012. (Note: M also stands for multiple choice – we took the liberty of selecting who we feel are the most deserving for each award, but feel free to select anyone you choose.)

You are in charge here, and what you say goes. You make the picks and we tabulate the results. That’s all there is to it. Look for the winners to start appearing right here on memphisport.net starting July 1.
