After much anticipation, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson made his Impact Wrestling debut on Spike TV. A debut that planted the seed for a showdown between Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle and former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Rampage Jackson.
The two men went face to face in the middle of the ring, after Jackson mentioned beating the best TNA has to offer. Rampage also mentioned his hometown of Memphis, TN and how his bodyslams inside the cage came from being a fan of pro wrestling.
Kurt Angle competed in the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, where he won a gold medal in heavyweight freestyle wrestling. He is one of only four people to complete a Grand Slam in amateur wrestling (junior nationals, NCAAs, World Championships and the Olympics).
Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has won numerous MMA Championships throughout his career. He even successfully unified the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship with the Pride Middleweight Championship.
Did you know: Kurt Angle started his professional wrestling career in Memphis, TN at Memphis Power Pro Wrestling?
IMPACT WRESTLING airs every Thursday night at 9/8c on Spike TV.
