Throwback Thursday: Brian Christopher’s little red wagon

09In Octboer 1992, the Memphis-based USWA had a new villain. He was a familiar face, former fan favorite & son of Jerry “The King” Lawler. And after capturing the World Light Heavyweight Championship from Danny Davis, “Too Sexy” Brian Christopher couldn’t resist gloating about it.

Christopher was a triple Champion, as he held the Texas Title, Southern title & the World Light Heavyweight title all at the same time. Brian Christopher held so many Championships, he could no longer carry them all.

In this week’s throwback clip, watch as Brian brings a little red wagon full of his title belts – along with a scale – to actually weigh how much gold & silver he has.

Watch:

Also in the clip:

– Wrestling legend & owner of Ohio Valley Wrestling (formerly a WWE developmental system) Danny Davis.

– Long time Memphis Wrestling commentator & weatherman Dave Brown.

– Former Memphis Wrestling owner & broadcaster, the late Corey Maclin.

Fun Facts:  For more than 30 years, wrestlers have made the traditional pilgrimage to a tiny eatery in a busy Tokyo neighborhood. And for a chosen few, the restaurant’s owners have bestowed upon them the mythical and highly-desirable Ribera Steakhouse jacket. In this clip, Danny Davis wears his Ribera Steakhouse jacket.

Have a Memphis Wrestling memory to share?  We would love to hear it.
