Week 9 TAM Rankings: Ole Miss is unanimous No. 1

ole miss trampolineIt was another exhilarating week for the TAM teams, but there were no major upsets (unlike last week).

Ole Miss took care of business against lowly Idaho amassing just over 570 total yards of offense.  The Rebels remain the unanimous No. 1 in these rankings, with everyone else vying for the second place spot.

Mississippi State defeated Kentucky on Wednesday night, and may be the TAM team with the best chance to knock Ole Miss off of their perch atop the TAM rankings.

After riding high off of their two upsets last week, Tennessee and Vanderbilt came crashing back to Earth with a resounding thud.  Vanderbilt could not stop last year’s Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel, who had over 300 yards of total offense in the Aggies blow out victory over Vandy.

Coach Butch Jones and the Vols did manage to score in their 35 point defeat to Alabama, something that no other TAM team has done all year (neither Ole miss or Arkansas could muster a point against the Crimson Tide).

MTSU managed to keep their bowl hopes alive by knocking of Marshall thanks to a last second touchdown pass from Logan Kilgore.

Arkansas got some much-needed rest this week, but face a stiff challenge Saturday when a one loss Auburn team comes to town.  Arkansas State may have just cost themselves a shot at three-peating as Sun Belt Champs with their loss to Lafayette, and Memphis did not play on Saturday because of their Wednesday night game against old rival Cincinnati.

Southern Mississippi is not going to be eligible for a bowl this year, and the Golden Eagles are still seeking their first win of the year.

With so many stellar games to choose from this week, it is hard to single one out as the best TAM game.  However, the Bulldogs trip to South Carolina has significant implications to the TAM Rankings and the Bulldogs season.  The Bulldogs start a brutal three game stretch against ranked teams before taking on two TAM teams (Arkansas and Ole Miss) at the end of the year.  Knocking off the Gamecocks will go a long way to ensuring the Bulldogs become bowl eligible.

November is almost here, and with each passing week the bowl picture becomes clearer.  So far eight of the nine TAM teams still have a shot at becoming bowl eligible.  It is sure to be another thrilling week for the TAM teams.

Without further ado here are week nine’s TAM Rankings…
