Week 10 TAM Rankings: Rebels are one win away from bowl eligibility

ole miss cakeIt was another rough week for the TAM teams, due in large part to the fact that they faced off against three teams ranked in the top 15 of the BCS poll.

Ole Miss and Vanderbilt, the top two teams in this week’s rankings, both enjoyed bye weeks before facing crucial games.  The Commodores take on an injury plagued Florida team in the swamp, and the Rebels will get a chance to defeat their second TAM team when Arkansas comes to town.

Tennessee faced a Tigers team fresh off of a heartbreaking loss in overtime to South Carolina, and all Mizzo did was  gain over 330 rushing yards in route to a 31-3 victory over the Vols.

Mississippi State traveled to South Carolina  and lost despite out gaining the Gamecocks (385 total yards to 307), tallying more first downs than the Gamecocks (23 to 12), and dominating time of possession.  Five turnovers hurt the Bulldogs chances for the win as Conner Shaw capitalized on every mistake, throwing four touchdowns in the Gamecocks victory.

Arkansas is now riding a six game losing streak after their 18 point defeat to Auburn.  The Razorbacks are one loss away from failing to reach bowl eligibility for the second straight season.

MTSU defeated UAB to keep their hopes alive for a chance to win the Conference USA East division, while Arkansas State won a close game against South Alabama to avoid falling two games behind Louisiana-Lafayette in the chase for the Sun Belt Championship.

It was the same old song and dance for Memphis and Southern Mississippi this week as both of them lost.

It was easy to pick this week’s game of the week with the Razorbacks taking on the Rebels.  It is the only matchup this week that has two TAM teams battling one another.  Also, a win makes Ole Miss bowl eligible and a loss eliminates Arkansas from bowl contention, so much is at stake for both teams.

Another exhilarating week of college football has come and gone for the TAM teams, but this week should be just as thrilling for each of them.

Without further ado here are week ten’s TAM Rankings…
