This week, big news was released regarding the future of Memphis Wildfire Wrestling. A new deal has been struck with the Memphis-based Cash Saver to bring professional wrestling back to Minglewood Hall throughout the rest of the year. The first date announced is September 18th entitled “Long Live The King.” The event will commemorate and celebrate the two-year anniversary of Jerry “The King” Lawler’s heart attack that happened live on the nationally televised Monday Night RAW.
Rumor has it that many of Lawler’s friends & foes from the classic Memphis Wrestling days will be in attendance that evening. The first name confirmed for the show is a man known as one of Lawler’s greatest opponents, defeating Lawler several times for the Southern Heavyweight Championship. He’s also a fellow WWE Hall of Famer.
On September 18th at Minglewood Hall, “Handsome” Jimbo will return to Mempho!
This week’s Throwback Thursday, we are going to take an in-depth look at “The Boogie Woogie Man” – WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Valiant.
After 10,000 matches & over 4 million miles on the road, “Handsome” Jimmy will be heading back to Memphis, TN to be a special guest on Jerry Lawler’s big night “Long Live The King.” Don’t miss your chance to see Jimmy Valiant live at Minglewood Hall.
