Week 4 TAM Rankings: Mississippi State Remains Second Despite Big Win

ole miss cupWell, well, well. How about those Mississippi State Bulldogs?

Led by star quarterback Dak Prescott and a stingy defense, Dan Mullin’s boys won in Tiger Stadium for the first time since 1991.  Prescott ran for 105 yards and passed for 268 yard and two touchdowns.  The Bulldogs defense held LSU to just 3 points in the first three quarters.

Even though Mississippi State pulled off the biggest upset for a TAM team this young season, they remain second in the rankings behind Ole Miss, who along with Tennessee, had bye weeks this week.

In the TAM game of the week, Memphis continued to roll.  This time The Tigers took down in state rival, and fellow TAM team, MTSU.  Next up for Memphis is a showdown with Ole Miss.

It took overtime before the Red Wolves prevailed against Utah State, handing the Aggies their second loss (both losses came to TAM teams) of the season.

It was another close call for the young men of Southern Mississippi as they won their contest against Appalachian State by one point.

There was no let down for the Razorbacks, as they followed last week’s outstanding performance against Texas Tech with a 38 point win against Northern Illinois.

Vandy played better, but still lost to South Carolina.

This is another week full of great games for the TAM teams.   Among these great games is Arkansas vs. Texas A&M and Tennessee vs. UGA.  However, the TAM Game of the Week is down in the Grove, where the Ole Miss Rebels will take on the Memphis Tigers.

Another week has come and gone, and there are just two undefeated TAM teams left.
Without further ado, here are week four’s TAM Rankings…

The Mid-South is full of fans with allegiances to different area
college football programs. Which FBS program in the three states surrounding the Memphis area is the best? To help end some arguments and start others, every week MemphiSport ranks all the college football teams in Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi. We call it the TAM Rankings.
