Roslyn Boyd’s Dallas-based BasketsAsGifts and event planning ventures becoming fixtures in Texas and other 49 states

ppppDALLAS — It’s nothing for Roslyn Renee Boyd to strike up a captivating conversation about her husband, Devon Terrance Boyd.

In fact, when doing so, you can just about witness her put on display her customary smile.

Described as her “high school sweetheart,” Boyd said it was because of her husband’s inspiring input and guidance that greatly enabled her to delve off into entrepreneurship a couple of years ago.

She has since been nothing short of impressive.

rrrtttA Newark, New Jersey native who has been a resident of the Dallas/Fort Worth area for the past 11 years, Boyd is owner and chief operating officer of BasketsAsGifts/Party In A Box All Around Event Planner, an up-and-coming venture by which she’s appropriately adopted the catchphrase, “Don’t Be Late Trying To Decorate…BasketsAsGifts Can Set Your Party Straight.”

uuuuiii“My inspiration was from my high school sweetheart and loving husband when he was a football player and coach,” Boyd told longtime journalist Andre Johnson during a recent interview. “He always strived for excellence on the field. He let nothing stop him from making that touchdown and encouraging others that followed him to do the same.”

As Boyd tells it, her business has been scoring figurative touchdowns, of sorts, since its inception, in large part because although it mirrors others similar to it, it has assumed its own unorthodox twisted.

Come Sunday, October 16, her business’ official grand opening will take place from 2-4 p.m. at the West Irving Improvement Association located at 3901 Jackson Street.

“My business is unique and unlike no other,” Boyd said.

ooooFor starters, BasketsAsGifts was established in nearby Irving, Texas in 2007 as what Boyd described as a “passion,” particularly as it relates to providing others with gifts that ultimately gave way to smiles, all while she did not expect anything in return, she said.

“I did this ongoing for four years until God spoke vividly, ‘Your passion is your financial blessing,’” Boyd said.

It wasn’t long thereafter that Boyd and her biggest supporters sensed the time had come that she reap the benefits of her labor, sensed the time had finally come that she enjoys the fruits of her labor through the gifts by which God has blessed her.

She has since been nothing short of impressive.

yyyAmongst the reasons is that BasketsAsGifts creates what Boyd labels as original, one-of-a-kind baskets and chocolates for an assortment of occasions — from birthdays, to holidays, vote of thanks and well wishes, as well as other special occasions.

As for the events planning portion of her business, Boyd emphasized that Party In A Box routinely makes personal appearances in which she will hosts parties from what she deems “straight from a box.”

There, consumers would be allowed to choose from an a variety of party packages, most notably basic, silver, gold, and platinum.

“Then I will come and setup your event with ease,” Boyd said. “Party In A Box gives you two options: You can pick up your box or I will come setup your box.”

In addition, BasketsAsGifts/Party In A Box cater to all ages, most notably from the unborn to the elderly, Boyd said.

Also, her business affords her with the golden opportunities to ship her products to consumers virtually anywhere in the country, a trend she said has benefited her venture mightily since its much-anticipated inception.

Described as her “high school sweetheart,” Boyd said it was because of her husband’s inspiring input and guidance that greatly enabled her to delve off into entrepreneurship a couple of years ago.

“My inspiration and praise are first to God for giving me the ability to create and use my talents for His will and His purpose,” Boyd said. “Then my husband…he’s had a lot of setbacks and disappointments, but never gave up and kept pushing. My mom was a single parent, raising two girls alone, but she never gave up on making nothing out of something.”

That, after all, explains why Boyd realizes unlike never before where her inspiration comes from.

Fortunately for her, she has since been nothing short of impressive.

Thanks in large part to her high school sweetheart.
